Bunratty Castle
One of the great appeals of the Ennis region is that it is richly endowed with a range of visitor attractions that provide the visitor with a wide choice of opportunities for enjoyment, whatever the weather.
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park: The Castle, built in 1425, has been authentically restored to its former medieval splendour and houses an array of medieval treasures. Within the grounds is Bunratty Folk Park, where Irish village life at the turn of the century is beautifully recreated.
Cliffs of Moher
One of Europe's outstanding coastal features, where the giant, rugged coastline rises to nearly 700 feet of sheer cliff above the Atlantic Ocean.
O'Brien's Tower, which was constructed in the early 19th century as a viewing point for Victorian tourists, is located on Moher's highest cliff. From its exceptional vantage position you can view the Clare coastline, the Aran Islands and mountains as far apart as Kerry and Connemara.
The Burren
A geographical anomaly of alpine landscapes and vegetation, a lunar-shaped limestone plateau famous for its wild flowers and an abundance of antiquities dating from prehistoric to medieval times. Those of an academic frame of mind with an interest in botany, archaeology or history have a real treat in store for them.
Clare County Museum
Across our cobblestone courtyard lies the Clare County Museum, which captures the story of it's people stretching back thousands of years at a fascinating exhibition called Riches of Clare' under the themes of Earth, Power, Faith and Water.
Admission is free to all our guests and it is the ideal starting point to exploring all there is to Ennis town and County Clare.
